SUMMARY:Autumn Church Tour - 15 September
DESCRIPTION:Joining instructions (time and place) and driving directions will be sent to participants after booking has closed.\nIdentical tours will be run on Friday\, September 15th and Saturday\, September 16th.\nThis booking page is for September 15th. \nI have chosen five of the small churches in the Shill Valley and Broadshire Benefice for this year’s autumn tour. They range from early Saxon through to late Victorian\, starting with St Georges Kelmscott\, birthplace of The Society for the Protection of Ancient buildings and largely untouched thanks to William Morris.  St Mary’s Holwell is home to the youngest of the five and is a fine example of late Gothic revival. \nBetween these two we shall visit St Matthew’s Langford with its delightful pub\, the Bell\, for lunch\, SS Peter and Paul Broadwell and St Georges Kencot. \nThere are numerous surprises in all of these and I very much look forward to seeing you in September\, especially those who could not make the Spring Tour. \nDavid Warr
