Since the OHCT was founded 50 years ago, the Trust has raised and distributed almost £3.5 million to preserve, develop and renovate some of the County’s most treasured churches, of all denominations.
As the years go by, however, the costs of maintaining these important buildings and thus the demand for the Trust’s grants will inevitably increase.
The Trust has therefore decided to build an endowment fund – the Heritage Fund – to ensure that money will be available to help these churches for many, many years to come. The fund will generate a reliable income, and will enable the Trust to have more impact by giving larger grants over the longer term.
Building this important Heritage Fund is the main focus of our Jubilee year and we have launched a campaign to do it called the Jubilee Campaign.
Bernard Taylor DL, who shares our passion for church buildings in Oxfordshire, and wants to secure them for future generations, is leading the Jubilee Campaign. He and his Campaign Committee are working tirelessly to raise the funds needed and have raised almost £1 million as the Campaign is launched.
However, to achieve this ambitious target more needs to be done and we need your help.
We are asking our supporters to consider making either one-off cash gifts or pledges over a five-year period, or to consider making a Gift in Will to the Campaign. All donations to the Campaign are tax-effective.
