Changes To Our Constitution

The Charity Commission approved our new constitution in August 2016. The “Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust (2016)” has formally come into existence as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). The previous OHCT trust transferred all its assets liabilities and activities to the new CIO at the end of March 2017. The CIO has a new charity number, and we have redesigned our letterhead, but in all other respects members will not notice the change at all: our working name will continue to be Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust, and the bank accounts and our pattern of activity will not be affected. Indeed the underlying change is that we now have a modern constitution which reflects the way we actually operate as opposed to the old Trust deed which made no provision for our membership or for the Council.
