Latest Ride and Stride updates such as church and road closures.
- Woodstock: St Mary Magdalene – the church is closed on 8 September due to a wedding (in fact the Marquess of Blandford – Duke of Marlborough’s son). Additionally, there will be a number of road closures due to the wedding. We understand that the road will be closed from the Town Hall (where High Street and Market Street meet) along Park Street to the gates of Blenheim Palace. Although Rectory Lane and Park Lane will be open, security personnel will be stopping entry to the churchyard via the church gate in Rectory Lane. Please see the link to map.
- North Leigh Methodist Church – Closed in 2017 so will not be taking part in 2018.
- Oxford, St Cross – Only open between 12 noon and 4 pm.
- Oxford, St Michael in the Northgate – There is a free concert at 4 pm as part of Oxford Open Doors – Schubert Octet.
- Summertown URC – Will now be closed for building works. Registration for the URC will be at St Michael & All Angels, in Lonsdale Road, just round the corner. Signs up on the day to show StRiders where to go.
- Summertown, St Michael & All Angels – Now has a toilet in church, partially funded by OHCT.
- East Challow – Now has a toilet in church, partially funded by OHCT.
- Oxford, St Margaret – Church will be closed but register should be available to sign.
- Wootton (Near Abingdon), St Peters – There is a wedding (and preparations) will take up most of the day, sadly we will not be able to welcome visitors from Ride and Stride. St/Riders will need to sign their own sponsor form.
- Bodicote, St John the Baptist – From approx 12.45 p.m. until 3.15p.m. due to a wedding St/Riders will be welcomed in Church House which is next door to the Church.
- Henley, Christ Church URC – May not be open. St/Riders will need to sign their own sponsor form.
- Abingdon, Our Lady’s School Chapel – This will not be open but there may an additional register at Our Lady and St Edmund of Abingdon RC.
- Blackbird Leys, Sacred Heart RC – This will not be open so St/Riders will need to sign their own sponsor form.
- Charlton on Otmoor – Signing in will not be possible between about 12.30 and 2 pm due to a wedding at 1 pm. An alternative signing in place will be noted on the external notice board and is actually on the barn doors of my nearby cottage in Church Lane.
