David Warr will lead a tour to churches in the Burford benefice sitting close together in the Windrush Valley. Starting around 11am (to be confirmed), we shall see St Mary the Virgin, Swinbrook; St Nicholas, Asthall; and St Oswald’s, Widford. A pub lunch will be included, and tea in St James the Great at Fulbrook, followed by a visit to St John the Evangelist, Taynton (closing the day at around 5pm). Ticket price: £20. We shall see architecture ranging from the 11th to the 19th centuries, some fine stone sculpture and monuments, and a precious, unmodified 17th century striking clock.
