An article by a John Kibble in Progress, the Quarterly Magazine of the Witney Methodists Circuit, Vol 3, No 2, Second Quarter 1935, gave an account of how Methodists came to meet in Sutton.
Some 44 years this was written they met in the home of one of their number, a grand old timber framed house with a big room. It is not clear from the article whether this was later adapted to become the chapel and school room, but is assumed so.
