Blewbury : St Michael and All Angels

A substantial Mediaeval parish church. A spacious church with a late Norman vaulted chancel and tower crossing, with south and north aisles and west tower added in the 13th to 15th centuries. It is set in a pretty village at the foot of the Berkshire Downs.

About this church

Basically a late 12th cruciform church, with later Mediaeval additions. A central tower over the crossing was taken down in the 15th Century and replaced by a magnificent new tower at the West End. Some fine Mediaeval woodwork and brasses. The chancel was remodelled in the later 19th century. A Grade 1 Listed building.
