We shall gather again in the Palace Orangery as guests of His Grace Duke of Marlborough.
Our speaker this year will be Julian Munby, FSA, a distinguished historian and archaeologist with interests in medieval buildings and in the history of landscape, gardens and travel. He has been Head of Buildings Archaeology at Oxford Archaeology and has worked on conservation plans for the National Trust, English Heritage and others. He is Oxford’s Diocesan Advisor on Archaeology. His interests are broad, and he has worked extensively on the history of the carriage: it is on this that he will speak – his intriguing title will be “Forgotten furniture on wheels – the archaeology and early history of the carriage”.
The evening will start at 6:30 pm with a reception and then a seated buffet supper in the Palace Orangery. The Lecture will run from shortly after 8:00 pm for about an hour.
