Fourth OHCT ROADSHOW: Managing Church Projects

On 26th September we were delighted to welcome 35 representatives of Oxfordshire churches to the fourth of our Roadshow events. Speakers included Liz Kitch (Head of Church Buildings, Diocese of Oxford), Christian Randall (Conservation Architect), Cynthia Robinson (OHCT Grants Officer) and the Revd Margreet Armitstead (St Mary & St Nicholas Littlemore).

Our Roadshows are designed to help people with responsibilities for their churches who are contemplating undertaking building works to negotiate their way through the necessary pathways that will lead to the successful completion of their building project.

The evening concluded with an inspiring account from the Revd Armitstead of the major works undertaken at Littlemore and the process of commissioning designs, obtaining permissions and raising money. The once rather tired and damp interior of the church has been transformed into a building to support local community while preserving its religious historicity: a place where ‘Heart speaks unto Heart’ (St John Henry Newman).

Our thanks to all our speakers and to our hosts for the evening St Mary & St Nicholas Church, Littlemore.
