Cycling Route 1 – Faringdon & Wantage

A scenic 11-mile circular cycle ride through the Oxfordshire countryside, taking in four beautiful churches along the way. This route is part of the Ride + Stride fundraising event for the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust, held annually on the 2nd Saturday of September.

The Ride:

• Distance: Approximately 11 miles
• Duration: Allow 1 hour 45 minutes (including 10 minutes at each church)
• Terrain: Predominantly quiet lanes with one stretch on the A417
• Difficulty: This route is best suited for committed and experienced cyclists due to the distance

While the full route is designed for more experienced cyclists, feel free to tailor it to your own pace and ability. Take shorter sections, skip a few churches, or adjust the lunch break – it’s entirely up to you!
