Goring & Checkendon

On a recent visit to the Church of St Thomas of Canterbury in Goring OHCT members were treated to a talk by conservation architect, David Warr, who also led and organised this event. We then went on to the church of St Peter and St Paul,Checkendon which boasts a fabulous Kennington window. We enjoyed a wonderful buffet lunch at the local “Highwayman” and then on to St Botolph Swyncombe and St Mary the Virgin in North Stoke.

Members who attended this event on the Friday were lucky enough to be invited to tea at the lovely home of the Earl and Countess of Macclesfield and to view their Stubbs collection.
