Wolfson Lecture 2026

‘A Place Most Royall’: the Tower of London and its Visitors, 1500-2026
This year’s lecture will describe the Tower and its visitors over some 500 years (one can’t help but think about the range of fates that befell the visitors……). Our lecturer will be Dr Edward Impey, FSA, FRHistS, a distinguished historian and museum curator. He was a curator of Historic Royal Palaces and, for nine years until 2022, he held the position of Master of the Armouries and Director General of the Royal Armouries (for which, he was resident in the Tower).
Following the Lecture, as is our wont, we shall adjourn for our accustomed evening drinks and canapés, weather permitting, on the lawn by the river.
Do please bring guests and encourage your acquaintances to come: the Lecture is an excellent way of introducing potential new members to the Trust.
Lecture at 5:30 p.m: arrivals from 5:00 p.m.
