We were delighted to hear our Ride + Stride Coordinator, Hilary Cakebread Hall, speaking with BBC Radio Oxfordshire about this year’s event.
In the interview, Hilary explains how Ride + Stride is so much more than a sponsored walk or cycle between churches. The funds raised support the work of the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust, which provides grants to churches of all denominations across the county. These grants make a real difference – from essential repairs to the installation of kitchens and toilets – enabling churches, some over a thousand years old, to remain at the heart of their communities.
As Hilary says, it’s about ensuring that these historic buildings are not only preserved, but continue to have a life and purpose for generations to come.
